2019 -2020 Chamber Series Opens with Washington’s Camerata

September 5, 2019 by St. George's Leave a Comment

Early Music ensemble Washington’s Camerata will perform in concert on Sunday, September 15 at 3:00 p.m. at St. George’s Episcopal Church as part of the church’s Chamber Concert Series. Selections for the concert will include works by Bach, Graun, Quantz, and Telemann for the recorder, violin, viola, violincello, traverso, and harpsichord.

Established in 2009, Washington’s Camerata, is a period instrument ensemble dedicated to the music of the 17th and 18th centuries. Founding flutists Dr. Kelly Kazik and Sarah McIver achieve innovative programming through the ensemble’s unique instrumentation to bring charming and rarely heard music back to life.

Located at 905 Princess Anne Street in historic downtown Fredericksburg, Virginia, St. George’s Episcopal Church offers a wide range of concerts throughout the year featuring local and out of town musicians. The nave’s lush acoustics provide the perfect backdrop for “beautiful music in a beautiful space”.

The concert is free with donations accepted at the door. For more information, contact (540) 373-4133 or music@stgeorgesepiscopal.net. To learn more about St. George’s concert series, visit www.stgeorgesepiscopal.net/music/concerts.

Parish Prayer Partners in Fall 2019

August 27, 2019 by St. George's Leave a Comment

Prayer is the glue that binds our community together! It’s time for “3P in F,” the fall edition of our semi-annual parish-wide prayer activity. Sign up–alone or with members of your household, including children–to pray for another member or household of the parish in the weeks leading up to Advent. Your name will be given to someone else for prayer. Every week you will receive a message of encouragement and instruction about ways to pray. Later this year, we’ll meet up for a fun event to “reveal” who’s praying for whom! Deadline to sign up is September 30, 2019.

If the form isn’t displaying correctly (as with some mobile devices), click here.
