Save The Date! 4th Annual Ecumenical Pride Service – June 28
Join with our FXBG friends and denominational partners for a fourth annual Pride Service on Sunday June 28th at 4pm at Trinity Episcopal Church. The service will feature three reflections by three young adults, music by St. Georgian and newly ordained deacon the Rev. John Hager, and a festive reception across the street at The House. If you’d like to help with the reception or join the pop-up choir or with questions, please be in touch with Fr. Ethan at missioner@thehousefxbg.org.
Juneteenth Celebration- June 19th 2026, 12-5pm, Market Square
Long before it was a federal holiday, people of faith celebrated the emancipatory joy of Juneteenth. The earliest known commemorations of the day were church-centered celebrations in Texas dating
back to 1866. Today, we join with people, past and present, who seek freedom for all people, rooted in community and love. Please consider joining St George’s and other community partners in Market Square from 12-5pm on Juneteenth to celebrate, listen, and build beloved community! If you cannot attend, but would still like to participate, you can help us provide hospitality by donating prepackaged snacks or beverages to the church office. Contact Jake DeNap with questions!
Open to All in Love: Construction Update
Phase II is underway! Our stonemasons have returned to move some more stones in our graveyard. After careful consideration of the equipment needed for building the retaining wall and columbarium, Daniel & Co requested we move additional stones to ensure they are kept safe. The stonemason’s work should wrap up Sunday or Monday.
Virginia Masonry has already been on site working on the three sets of stairs at our main church entrance. They are cleaning and taking care of some routine maintenance.
The big news: scaffolding is scheduled to go up on June 1! The first part of the work will include removing the paint of the church wall along the graveyard, repointing brick as needed, and then applying the same protective coating used on Faulkner Hall. They will also address the window glazing (Sydnor Hall level) and restore the stained glass window casements on that wall. Additionally, Daniel & Co. will be restoring the louvers of the bell tower. They estimate this portion of the work will take around three months. After that, they will begin pouring the foundation for the columbarium.
Many thanks for your continued support – it wouldn’t be possible without you.
