March 4, 2026 by Stephanie Dolezal Leave a Comment

St. George’s Episcopal Church will offer a free concert on Sunday, March 15, 2026 at 3 pm, featuring The Chamber Chorale of Fredericksburg, conducted by Artistic Director Joseph Eveler. The concert is free with donations accepted at the door.

At the March concert, The Chamber Chorale of Fredericksburg (CCF), will perform a range of choral works including “Big Yellow Tax” by Joni Mitchell, “Fields of Gold” by Sting, “I’ll Fly Away” by Albert Brumley, and more.

The Chamber Chorale of Fredericksburg (CCF) founded in 1989, is a premier vocal ensemble of 34 volunteer singers dedicated to exceptional choral performance. Now in its 37th season, CCF presents diverse repertoire—from a cappella works to chamber collaborations with orchestra—and enriches the Fredericksburg community through artistic excellence, outreach, and regional partnerships.

Known for its lush acoustics and welcoming atmosphere, St. George’s offers a year-round concert series showcasing both local and nationally recognized artists. This performance promises an afternoon of “beautiful music in a beautiful space,” continuing the church’s tradition of musical excellence. Admission is free, with donations gratefully accepted at the door to support our music and ministry at St. George’s.

BST Band Concert: February 15 at 3pm

February 5, 2026 by Stephanie Dolezal Leave a Comment

St. George’s Episcopal Church invites the community to a free concert on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at 3:00 pm, featuring BST Band: Black History Celebration Music of the African Diaspora. Donations at the door are accepted to benefit the Absalom Jones Fund. The concert will be held in the church’s historic nave, located at 905 Princess Anne Street in downtown Fredericksburg.
Come and celebrate Black History Month with the jazz funk and world music of the BST Band. BST Band presents a fusion of world music shared by musical friends brought together by husband-and-wife musical duo, Becky Stewart (piano and vocals) and Slam Stewart (drums), and their sister, Tanyah Dadze (keyboard synthesizer and vocals) who most recently toured the world with local artist “Gaye Adegbalola and the Wild Rutz”. Added to the musical mix are the flavors of Puerto Rico with Daphne Cashion on Saxophone and Jorge Rosario on bass. To top off this eclectic mix of musicians, world-renowned Conguero, Alberto Limonta Perez (or “Limon”), provides the authentic Afrocuban flavor or “sabor afrocubano” on the Congas.
George’s.
The Absalom Jones Fund for Episcopal HBCUs supports two institutions affiliated with The Episcopal Church since the 1800s: Saint Augustine’s University in Raleigh, North Carolina, and Voorhees University in Denmark, South Carolina. The concert is offered free to the community, with donations gladly accepted at the door to benefit the work and ministry of The Absalom Jones Fund.
