VBS and Music Camp at St. George’s

July 23, 2026 by Stephanie Dolezal Leave a Comment

What an incredible week we’ve had at St. George’s Vacation Bible School and Music Camp! Our campers have had a wonderful time learning, creating, playing, and growing together.

Throughout the week, the children enjoyed captivating Godly Play stories, including Jesus in the Temple, Moses and the Exodus, The Ten Best Ways to Live (The Ten Commandments), The Ark and the Tabernacle, and The Ark and the Temple. These stories sparked thoughtful conversations and helped bring Bible lessons to life.

Our craft sessions were filled with creativity and imagination. Campers created personal journals to record their thoughts and reflections, designed tambourines for use in our musical performance, built their own special arks, and decorated beautiful picture frames. They have also been hard at work helping design and create the backdrop set for our upcoming musical.

When it came time for games, Father Rock kept everyone active and laughing with a variety of fun activities, including different versions of tag, rock-paper-scissors challenges, foot fencing, and much more.

Of course, one of the highlights of the week has been preparing for our musical, The Lost Boy. The children have been enthusiastically learning the songs, dialogue, and choreography for this delightful and melodic retelling of the story of Jesus getting lost in the Temple as a young boy.

We invite you to join us this Sunday at 10 am to enjoy the full performance. Our campers have worked incredibly hard, and it promises to be a joyful and memorable presentation!

Feast of the Ascension with Trinity- Thursday, May 14 at 6:30 pm

May 11, 2026 by Stephanie Dolezal Leave a Comment

St. George’s will celebrate the feast of the Ascension with our Episcopal siblings at Trinity on Thursday, May 14 at 6:30 pm. The service will be hosted by Trinity Episcopal Church located at 825 College Ave, Fredericksburg, VA 22401.

We will be gathering at Trinity Episcopal in their outdoor labyrinth to celebrate the Ascension. This prayer service will include readings, hymns, and a short homily from Father Rock. Please bring a chair if you want one. It will close with an opportunity to depart through the labyrinth or do an alternative closing activity. It will be an encouraging and reflective time on the last commissioning of Jesus before going to the “right hand of the Father.” If there is rain, we will gather in their parish hall. We hope to see you there!
