Children’s Choir and Chimes

We are excited to usher in our 2026-2027 Children’s Choir season at St. George’s!

Our first rehearsal will be on September 13 at 3 pm in the choir room (accessible through our graveyard door). Children’s choir and chimes will rehearse from 3 – 4:30 pm on Sunday afternoons. We are still working on finalizing our rehearsal and performance schedule. Please invite your friends to come make music with us at St. George’s! We will send out more information as we approach our September 13 start date. In the meantime, email Juliann Jones to sign up.

Free Concert at St. George’s Featuring Peter and Will Anderson, with guitarist Adam Moezinia

Fredericksburg, VA — St. George’s Episcopal Church invites the community to a free concert on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at 3:00 pm, featuring acclaimed jazz musicians Peter and Will Anderson performing on clarinet and saxophone, and guitarist Adam Moezinia. The concert will be held in the church’s historic nave, located at 905 Princess Anne Street in downtown Fredericksburg.
Hailed as “Virtuosos on clarinet andsaxophone” by the New York Times, Grammy-Winning Juilliard graduates and identical twin brothers Peter and Will Anderson present the life and music of the iconic American composer Irving Berlin, featuring guitarist Adam Moezinia. Songs will include “Cheek to Cheek,” “Blue Skies,” “Putin’ on the Ritz,” and “Always.”  Born and raised in Washington, DC, the Andersons have headlined the Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, live on Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion, and can be heard on the Grammy-winning soundtrack of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire with Vince Giordano’s Nighthawks. They received a 2014 Drama Desk nomination for their off-Broadway production of “Le Jazz Hot” and won a 2018 Bistro Award. You can learn more here: www.PeterAndWillAnderson.com.
Known for its lush acoustics and welcoming atmosphere, St. George’s offers a year-round concert series showcasing both local and nationally recognized artists. This performance promises an afternoon of “beautiful music in a beautiful space,” continuing the church’s tradition of musical excellence. Admission is free, with donations gratefully accepted at the door to support our music and ministry at St. George’s.

VBS and Music Camp at St. George’s

What an incredible week we had at St. George’s Vacation Bible School and Music Camp! Our campers had a wonderful time learning, creating, playing, and growing together.

Throughout the week, the children enjoyed captivating Godly Play stories, including Jesus in the Temple, Moses and the Exodus, The Ten Best Ways to Live (The Ten Commandments), The Ark and the Tabernacle, and The Ark and the Temple. These stories sparked thoughtful conversations and helped bring Bible lessons to life.

Our craft sessions were filled with creativity and imagination. Campers created personal journals to record their thoughts and reflections, designed tambourines for use in our musical performance, built their own special arks, and decorated beautiful picture frames. They have also been hard at work helping design and create the backdrop set for our upcoming musical.

When it came time for games, Father Rock kept everyone active and laughing with a variety of fun activities, including different versions of tag, rock-paper-scissors challenges, foot fencing, and much more.

Of course, one of the highlights of the week has been preparing for our musical, The Lost Boy. The children enthusiastically learned the songs, dialogue, and choreography for this delightful and melodic retelling of the story of Jesus getting lost in the Temple as a young boy.

We’re excited to share the lineup for our 2026–2027 Concert Series! VBS and Music Camp will be back again this summer! Join us July 20-24 (music performance on July 26) for what will be a splendid week of fun, fellowship, crafts, and music! Any children, rising K-6, are welcome to join us. We are also looking for teenage and parent volunteers to help lead the camper groups and run the stations. Our theme will be announced soon!
