There are a number of ways to get involved in lay ministry at St. George’s. You might want to serve as an Acolyte, read the scripture lessons as a Lay Reader, or lead Prayers of the People. Lay Eucharist Ministers (LEM) assist with the distribution of wine and bread at communion. Lay Eucharistic Visitors (LEV) take communion to those unable to be present due to illness or infirmity. If greeting and guiding is more your speed, consider becoming an Usher or a Greeter. Or, if you’re more of a behind the scenes kind of person, Liturgical Coordinators make sure our servers are in place. Altar Guild and Flower Guild members prepare the worship space beforehand and help clean afterwards. All these roles are essential so that we might “worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.”
