St. George’s Musicians to Perform Free Concert

Music of St. George's Chamber ConcertSt. George’s Episcopal Church will host its annual program wide concert featuring its choirs and instrumental ensembles on Sunday, December 15 at 3 pm. The concert is part of St. George’s Chamber Series. This eclectic afternoon of holiday music will showcase the varied music ensembles at St. George’s. Works will include festive choral music, jazz, Christmas favorites from the Celtic tradition, music from the Messiah for horn and organ, and music from The Nutcracker.

Located at 905 Princess Anne Street in historic downtown Fredericksburg, Virginia, St. George’s Episcopal Church offers a wide range of concerts throughout the year featuring local and out of town musicians. The nave’s lush acoustics provide the perfect backdrop for “beautiful music in a beautiful space”.

St. George Chamber Orchestra to Perform Free Concert

St. George’s Episcopal Church will host The St. George Chamber Orchestra on Sunday, November 17 at 3:00 pm as part of the church’s Chamber Concert Series. Selections for the concert include works by Russell Holsapple, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, and J. S. Bach.

James Kazik, staff arranger at one of the premiere Washington D.C. service bands since 2001, will conduct the Chamber Orchestra. Kazik is a renowned composer and orchestrator, staff writer for Hal Leonard Corp, and the current composer-in-residence for the Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic in Washington D.C.

Located at 905 Princess Anne Street in historic downtown Fredericksburg, Virginia, St. George’s Episcopal Church offers a wide range of concerts throughout the year featuring local and out of town musicians. Pete and Laurie and John and Mary Perform Free Concert

Pete Mealy and Laurie Rose Griffin will perform a concert with John and Mary Vreeland on Sunday, October 20. The concert is at 3 pm at St. George’s Episcopal Church and is part of the church’s Chamber Concert Series. The concert will be a mix of Jazz, Pop, Folk, and more.

The wife and husband acoustic duo, Laurie Rose Griffith and Peter Mealy, have been performing together for more than two decades. They have performed at hundreds of venues up and down the East Coast, including the Kennedy Center, The Summer Olympics, The Philadelphia Folk Festival, the Birchmere, and many more.

 

 

John and Mary Vreeland have been performing music together since 2002. Their shared passion for all types of music has driven the direction of their lives, both individually and as a couple. John and Mary are crowd favorites at Curitiba in downtown Fredericksburg and have also appeared at Fredericksburg’s PorchFest.

2019 -2020 Chamber Series Opens with Washington’s Camerata

Early Music ensemble Washington’s Camerata will perform in concert on Sunday, September 15 at 3:00 p.m. at St. George’s Episcopal Church as part of the church’s Chamber Concert Series. Selections for the concert will include works by Bach, Graun, Quantz, and Telemann for the recorder, violin, viola, violincello, traverso, and harpsichord. 

Established in 2009, Washington’s Camerata, is a period instrument ensemble dedicated to the music of the 17th and 18th centuries. Founding flutists Dr. Kelly Kazik and Sarah McIver achieve innovative programming through the ensemble’s unique instrumentation to bring charming and rarely heard music back to life.
