St. George’s Christmas Concert – December 21

St. George’s Episcopal Church invites the community to a free Christmas concert on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at 3:00 pm, featuring the parish’s music ensembles. The concert will be held in the church’s historic nave, located at 905 Princess Anne Street in downtown Fredericksburg.  Come and celebrate the season with St. George’s organists, choirs, jazz band, Celtic ensemble, and more. All are welcome to join for a musical Christmas feast guaranteed to make all merry and bright.

Known for its lush acoustics and welcoming atmosphere, St. George’s offers a year-round concert series showcasing both local and nationally recognized artists. This performance promises an afternoon of “beautiful music in a beautiful space,” continuing the church’s tradition of musical excellence. Admission is free, with donations gratefully accepted at the door to support our music and ministry at St. George’s and St. George’s partnership ministry in Haiti.

The Peacemakers in Concert at St. George’s: April 19, 3pm

St. George’s Episcopal Church will offer a free concert on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 3 pm, featuring The Peacemakers.
The Peacemakers are a musical duo featuring Jackie (guitar and vocals) and Eddie (guitar, violin and vocals).  Together they share their renditions of world music and modern folk tunes with both covers and original songs.  They create a harmony that is only obtainable by musicians with a true connection, both with each other and their audience. The talent and warmth generated by Eddie and Jackie, along with their musical styling, signature tempo changes, blue notes, and crunchy chords, make for a truly captivating performance. The Sunday afternoon concert is free with donations accepted at the door.

St. George’s Episcopal Church will offer a festive, free concert on Sunday, December 15 at 3 pm, featuring the parish’s music ensembles.

The concert is free with donations accepted at the door. All donations will benefit St. George’s partnership ministry in Haiti.

Juneteenth – 2023

This year, Juneteenth Celebrations will take place on Saturday, June 17, 2023. St. George’s is joining with our neighbors across the planning district to celebrate the significance and honor the legacy of Juneteenth at the Fredericksburg Nationals stadium. To ensure this is a success we need volunteers to help out!

Volunteers of all ages (under 18, parental permission required) are needed to help with:

  • Setup
  • Vendor management
  • Entertainment and stage management
  • Volunteer management

There are multiple shifts throughout the day. Please register to volunteer here.

St. George’s Runner-up in Interfaith Power & Light’s Cool Congregations Challenge

St. George’s Environmental Stewardship Committee (ESC) has donated their Cool Congregations runner-up award from Interfaith Power and Light (IPL) to Downtown Greens. St. George’s Episcopal Church has been selected as a runner-up in Interfaith Power & Light’s Cool Congregations Challenge. The annual contest accepts applications from religious congregations around the United States who are doing work to address global warming by reducing their carbon footprint as they create models of sustainability within their communities.

St. George’s won a Sacred Grounds award for hosting The Table (a weekly farm to table food distribution program), composting the organic waste from that program, and creating a large pollinator garden. St. George’s was also recognized for promoting and supporting the non-profit Downtown Greens’ expansion project to purchase the buffer land by Braehead Farm to preserve as green space for public enjoyment and agricultural training. The $500 prize was donated to the Downtown Greens’ project to help pay off their loan for the buffer.

“St. George’s Episcopal and the other national winning congregations are casting a vision for the kind of world in which they want to live, and then carrying out that vision with practical actions that make a real difference in creating lasting solutions to climate change,” said Rev. Susan Hendershot, President of Interfaith Power & Light.

The Cool Congregations Challenge shows that people of faith are united by concerns about climate change and are taking action. The winners provide strong moral role models for their communities, and their activities have a ripple effect with people in their own homes.

Interfaith Power & Light is mobilizing a religious response to global warming in congregations through the promotion of energy conservation, energy efficiency, and renewable energy.
