The Peacemakers in Concert at St. George’s: April 19, 3pm

April 2, 2025 by Stephanie Dolezal Leave a Comment

St. George’s Episcopal Church will offer a free concert on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 3 pm, featuring The Peacemakers.
The Peacemakers are a musical duo featuring Jackie (guitar and vocals) and Eddie (guitar, violin and vocals).  Together they share their renditions of world music and modern folk tunes with both covers and original songs.  They create a harmony that is only obtainable by musicians with a true connection, both with each other and their audience. The talent and warmth generated by Eddie and Jackie, along with their musical styling, signature tempo changes, blue notes, and crunchy chords, make for a truly captivating performance. The Sunday afternoon concert is free with donations accepted at the door.

Known for its lush acoustics and welcoming atmosphere, St. George’s offers a year-round concert series showcasing both local and nationally recognized artists. This performance promises an afternoon of “beautiful music in a beautiful space,” continuing the church’s tradition of musical excellence. Admission is free, with donations gratefully accepted at the door to support our music and ministry at St. George’s.

St. George’s Episcopal Church is a vibrant and inclusive spiritual community. “No matter who you are, whom you love, or where you’ve been, there’s a place for you here,” says the church’s leadership. With a commitment to service, justice, and peace, St. George’s welcomes all to experience its diverse worship and music offerings.

For more information about the concert or the church’s music series, please contact (540) 373-4133 or email music@stgeorgesepiscopal.net. Visit www.stgeorgesepiscopal.net/music/concerts to learn more.

Easter Gratitude Offering

March 23, 2025 by Stephanie Dolezal Leave a Comment

As we approach the joyous celebration of Easter, we are reminded of the profound gratitude we share for the blessings in our lives and the cherished memories of our loved ones. This season of renewal and hope offers us a unique opportunity to express our thankfulness and honor those who have touched our hearts.

We invite you to participate in St. George’s Episcopal Church’s Easter Gratitude Offering. This special offering allows us to give in honor of, in memory of, or in thanksgiving for our loved ones. Your contributions will support the church’s mission and ministries, helping us to continue our work in serving the community and spreading the message of love and compassion.

You can give online or by check:

For checks, include “gratitude offering” in the memo line and mail to: PO Box 7127, Fredericksburg, VA 22404. Please include a note that specifies who you would like to honor with your gift. We will also have some envelopes available in the pews on Sunday that you can place in the offering plate.

We will acknowledge honorees in our Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday service bulletins. To have your loved one included in the bulletins, please make your gift by April 7.

Thank you for your generosity and for being a part of our parish family. May this Easter season bring you peace, joy, and a renewed sense of hope.

Vision Brochure Now Available

September 9, 2024 by St. George's Leave a Comment

Our Open to All in Love Capital Campaign is getting started! We are excited to share with you our Vision Brochure, which provides an overview and summary of the project. More detailed information will follow soon.

We are proceeding with this project now because, in the words of our rector, the Rev. Joe Hensley, “It is high time that we make our buildings and grounds better reflect who we are: open to all in love.”

Our Open to All in Love campaign addresses urgent and future maintenance needs, improves accessibility to our worship space, and builds a columbarium in our graveyard. Our current estimate for these projects is $4 million. As approved by our vestry, the project includes four main areas of focus: maintenance, endowment, accessibility, and columbarium. Look for more details about our plan in a follow-up mailing in early October.

Gratitude Offering

February 27, 2024 by St. George's 1 Comment

In response to God’s generosity to us, we invite you to make a Gratitude Offering to St. George’s. We welcome you to give in honor or in memory of someone you care about. We welcome you to give in thanksgiving for blessings. We are also highlighting part of our ministry budget that blesses others as further inspiration to share in gratitude: the Community Dinner.

The Community Dinner is hosted by St. George’s members and friends every Monday in partnership with teams from other faith and civic groups. This is part of our work with Micah Ecumenical Ministries. Our guests include a variety of neighbors in need, some unhoused and some with homes and jobs. Guests receive a meal as well as a sense of belonging and care. As one of our guests, Michael, said last summer: “I am thankful for the community dinner. It’s a place to get a good meal and to get out of the heat. It’s a place to go to have people to talk to and a place to rest. It’s a place where I can go to figure out how I’m going to get back on my feet.”

We hope to raise $15,000 with our 2024 Easter Gratitude Offering to fund our parish budget for the Community Dinner and our annual donation to Micah Ecumenical Ministries. If you, like Michael, are thankful for the ministry of St. George’s, we hope you will consider a gift.

Click here to make a gift.

You can also mail a check to the office (PO Box 7127, Fredericksburg, VA 22404). Please include “Gratitude Offering” in the memo line and also note who you wish to honor or remember with your gift.

We will celebrate our gratitude together by publishing these names at Easter. Please make your gift by March 15th to have your honoree’s name included.

Thank you for your generous support!
