Vision Brochure Now Available

September 9, 2024 by St. George's Leave a Comment

Our Open to All in Love Capital Campaign is getting started! We are excited to share with you our Vision Brochure, which provides an overview and summary of the project. More detailed information will follow soon.

We are proceeding with this project now because, in the words of our rector, the Rev. Joe Hensley, “It is high time that we make our buildings and grounds better reflect who we are: open to all in love.”

Our Open to All in Love campaign addresses urgent and future maintenance needs, improves accessibility to our worship space, and builds a columbarium in our graveyard. Our current estimate for these projects is $4 million. As approved by our vestry, the project includes four main areas of focus: maintenance, endowment, accessibility, and columbarium. Look for more details about our plan in a follow-up mailing in early October.

Ash Wednesday and Lent 2024

February 6, 2024 by St. George's 2 Comments

May we turn away
From the darkness and
despair around us
So we can return
To God’s
steadfast and
abundant love.

Lent is a season of preparation for the joy of the resurrection of Jesus at Easter. Just as we as Christians are invited to observe a Holy Lent, we invite you to journey with us in community during this sacred time of reflection and renewal. While some may associate the time of Lent with penitence, it is also a time of deepening our connection with God. It is a time we intentionally open ourselves us to God as we patiently wait for the blessings of Easter.

Click here for our “Invitation to a Holy Lent” brochure. This brochure includes reflections on the promises and practices of the Baptismal Covenant.

Ash Wednesday – February 14

We mark the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday. The Ashes we receive on our foreheads remind us that we are “dust and to dust we shall return”. They are a solemn and comforting reminder that there are other pilgrims with us on this journey.

We will offer the Imposition of Ashes on Wednesday, February 14 at 7 am, 12 pm,  4:30 pm (for families) and 7 pm in our nave. All are welcome!

Wednesdays in Lent:

2/21, 2/28, 2/6, 2/13, 2/20: Noon Worship
12 pm Holy Eucharist with Prayers for Healing

Sundays in Lent

2/8, 2/25, 3/3: Lent Worship
7:45 am, 9 am Worship – also livestreamed, 11:15 am,
5:30 pm Celtic Evensong, 8 pm Compline

3/10: Laetare Sunday with Visit from Bishop Harris
7:45 am, 10 am Combined Worship – also livestreamed,
5:30 pm Celtic Evensong, 8 pm Compline

3/17: Fifth Sunday in Lent
