Parish Prayer Partners

Sign up to participate in Parish Prayer Partners in Fall

Prayer is powerful, and twice a year we invite parishioners to intentionally pray for one another for a series of weeks. Those who participate receive the name of another St. Georgian or household to pray for, and someone else will be praying for you, all anonymous until the prayer partners are revealed at the end of the season. Our clergy send suggestions about how to pray each week. Parish Prayer Partners in Fall will occur between November 2 and December 14. Sign up here.

Children’s Choir and Handbells

We are excited to usher in our 2025-2026 choir season at St. George’s!

This year, in addition to children’s and youth choir, we are also starting a handbell/chimes choir for children and youth.  Our rehearsal schedule for the fall will be Sundays from 3-4pm for children’s and youth choir, followed by children’s and youth handbells/chimes from 4-4:30pm. Grades 1 and up are encouraged to join!

Our first rehearsal will be on Sunday, August 24th in the choir room.

Please email our Children’s Music Director Juliann Jones if your child(ren) would like to participate in any of the children’s/youth music ministry programs.

Free Concert: Peter and Will Anderson with Adam Moezinia

Our Concert Series kicks off this Sunday, September 21 at 3 pm with jazz musicians Peter and Will Anderson performing an afternoon of music by Gershwin accompanied by guitarist Adam Moezinia.

Fresh off recent performances at Carnegie Hall and The Kennedy Center, woodwind virtuosos and identical twins Peter and Will Anderson present a carefully selected program of classic American melodies. The Andersons live and breathe the music of the 1930s and ‘40s – reviving tunes of the past with an energy and authenticity seldom heard today. Their program of music from the golden age includes such vintage gems as “Rhapsody in Blue,” hard-hitting swing classic “Sing, Sing, Sing,” and Broadway classic “My Favorite Things.” The Andersons are passionate about the great music from a century ago, including classics from Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, and George Gershwin. Graduates of the Juilliard School, Anderson’s have recently performed on Garrison Keillor’s Prairie Home Companion and on HBO’s Boardwalk Empire soundtrack.

The concert is free of charge, with donations accepted at the door. These events are a way for us to connect with the wider community, celebrate the Divine expressed through human creativity, and share our sacred and acoustically amazing nave. Free Concert at St. George’s – The Organists of St. George’s and The Creative Trombone Collective

St. George’s Episcopal Church will offer a free concert on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 3 pm, featuring The Organists of St. George’s: Magnus Lartey, Achim Loch, and John Vreeland.  There will also be a special guest performance by The Creative Trombone Collective.
The concert will feature pieces by Bach, Schroeder, Mendelssohn, Briggs, Mathias, Sowerby, Franck, Haydn, Saint-Saens, Porter, and the premiere of a new piece by Achim Loch, “Mutations,” scored for piano, vibraphone, viola, and organ. The concert is free with donations accepted at the door.
Located at 905 Princess Anne Street in historic downtown Fredericksburg, Virginia, St. George’s Episcopal Church offers a wide range of concerts throughout the year featuring local and out of town musicians. The Peacemakers in Concert at St. George’s: April 19, 3pm

St. George’s Episcopal Church will offer a free concert on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 3 pm, featuring The Peacemakers.
The Peacemakers are a musical duo featuring Jackie (guitar and vocals) and Eddie (guitar, violin and vocals).  Together they share their renditions of world music and modern folk tunes with both covers and original songs.  They create a harmony that is only obtainable by musicians with a true connection, both with each other and their audience. The talent and warmth generated by Eddie and Jackie, along with their musical styling, signature tempo changes, blue notes, and crunchy chords, make for a truly captivating performance. The Sunday afternoon concert is free with donations accepted at the door.

Known for its lush acoustics and welcoming atmosphere, St. George’s offers a year-round concert series showcasing both local and nationally recognized artists. This performance promises an afternoon of “beautiful music in a beautiful space,” continuing the church’s tradition of musical excellence.
