Scary Music for Organ Returns

Scary Music for OrganSt. George’s Episcopal Church will offer a free concert of Scary Music for Organ on Saturday, October 28 at 7:30 pm, featuring The Organists of St. George’s (Trystan Bennett, Brooks Kuykendall, Achim Loch, and John Vreeland).

Our most popular annual concert features includes haunting renditions of works by J.S. Bach, W.A. Mozart, Langlais, Ginastera, Mizzy, Reger, and Franck. The evening will be sure to be terrifyingly delightful and monstrously entertaining. Feel free to come in costume.

The concert is free with donations to the organ fund accepted at the door.

Located at 905 Princess Anne Street in historic downtown Fredericksburg, Virginia, St. George’s Episcopal Church offers a wide range of concerts throughout the year featuring local and out of town musicians. The nave’s lush acoustics provide the perfect backdrop for “beautiful music in a beautiful space”.

Free Concert at St. George’s

OrganSt. George’s Episcopal Church will offer a free concert by Magnus Lartey, Achim Loch, and John Vreeland on May 21 at 3 pm. The concert is the conclusion of the church’s Chamber Concert Series.

Featuring three recently added ranks to our Par­sons organ. Selections will include music by John Stanley, Vincent Lubeck, Dietrich Buxtehude, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Percy Fletcher and more, performed by Magnus Lartey, Achim Loch and John Vreeland. Also featured is music by Gottfried Homilius for oboe, cello and organ, with Melissa McCreary and Juliann Jones. The concert is free with donations accepted at the door.

Scary Music for Organ Returns

Scary Music for OrganSt. George’s Episcopal Church will offer a free Chamber Concert on Saturday, October 29 at 7:30 pm. The concert is part of the church’s Chamber Concert Series and features the organists of St. George’s: Trystan Bennett, Achim Loch, and John Vreeland.

The concert features repertoire by J.S. Bach, Danny Elfman, Modest Mussorgsky, Johann Pachelbel, and more for a frightfully entertaining evening of music.

The concert is free with donations accepted at the door. Masks are not required but recommended.

Free Afternoon Organ Concert

Organist Erik Wm. Suter to Perform at St. George’s

Internationally renowned organist, Erik William Suter will perform a concert at St. George’s Episcopal Church on Sunday, November 21, at 2:30 pm. The concert is part of St. George’s 300th Anniversary celebrations and will include works by Dupré, Duruflé, Mozart, Bach, and more.

Erik Wm. Suter, a native of Chicago, is a musician of international acclaim. For nearly 10 years, he served as Organist at Washington National Cathedral in Washington, DC. He holds degrees from Oberlin Conservatory and Yale University, where he studied with Haskell Thomson and Thomas Murray, respectively. Previously, he held positions at Trinity Church, Copley Square, and at the Parish of All Saints, both in Boston; and at Trinity Church-on-the-Green in New Haven, Connecticut.

The nave’s lush acoustics provide the perfect backdrop for “beautiful music in a beautiful space”.
