Free Concert: Peter and Will Anderson with Adam Moezinia

Our Concert Series kicks off this Sunday, September 21 at 3 pm with jazz musicians Peter and Will Anderson performing an afternoon of music by Gershwin accompanied by guitarist Adam Moezinia.

Fresh off recent performances at Carnegie Hall and The Kennedy Center, woodwind virtuosos and identical twins Peter and Will Anderson present a carefully selected program of classic American melodies. The Andersons live and breathe the music of the 1930s and ‘40s – reviving tunes of the past with an energy and authenticity seldom heard today. Their program of music from the golden age includes such vintage gems as “Rhapsody in Blue,” hard-hitting swing classic “Sing, Sing, Sing,” and Broadway classic “My Favorite Things.” The Andersons are passionate about the great music from a century ago, including classics from Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, and George Gershwin. Graduates of the Juilliard School, Anderson’s have recently performed on Garrison Keillor’s Prairie Home Companion and on HBO’s Boardwalk Empire soundtrack.

The concert is free of charge, with donations accepted at the door. These events are a way for us to connect with the wider community, celebrate the Divine expressed through human creativity, and share our sacred and acoustically amazing nave. VBS_2025Vacation Bible School: Registration is Now Open!!

VBS and Music Camp will be back again this summer from June 16-20 , 2025(Juneteenth off) for what will be a splendid week of fun, fellowship, crafts, and music! Campers will work together to learn and perform The Lost Sheep, a sweet musical about the Gospel story of the Lost Sheep.

Any children, rising K-6, are welcome to join us. Campers Register Here!

We are also looking for teenage and parent volunteers to help lead the camper groups and run the stations. Volunteers sign up Here.

Free Concert at St. George’s – The Organists of St. George’s and The Creative Trombone Collective

St. George’s Episcopal Church will offer a free concert on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 3 pm, featuring The Organists of St. George’s: Magnus Lartey, Achim Loch, and John Vreeland.  There will also be a special guest performance by The Creative Trombone Collective.
The concert will feature pieces by Bach, Schroeder, Mendelssohn, Briggs, Mathias, Sowerby, Franck, Haydn, Saint-Saens, Porter, and the premiere of a new piece by Achim Loch, “Mutations,” scored for piano, vibraphone, viola, and organ. The concert is free with donations accepted at the door.
Located at 905 Princess Anne Street in historic downtown Fredericksburg, Virginia, St. George’s Episcopal Church offers a wide range of concerts throughout the year featuring local and out of town musicians. Haiti Benefit Concert with “Limon” Perez and the Latin Feeling Band 2025

St. George’s will offer a special free concert for “Cinco de Mayo,”  on May 4, 2025, at 3:00 pm, featuring the Latin Feeling Band led by percussionist and friend of St. George’s, Alberto “Limon” Perez. The concert is free with donations accepted at the door.  All donations from the concert will support our shared ministry with Notre Dame Episcopal Church and School in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti.

“Limon” was born in Havana, Cuba and has spent his musical career of 30 years performing as a folkloric and popular dancer, as well as a vocalist and percussionist. His areas of expertise are the percussion and dance styles of rumba, Afro-Cuban folkloric tradition, and the popular styles of salsa. Known for their dynamic performances and fusion of traditional Latin sounds with the complex harmonies of jazz, the Latin Feeling Band promises an unforgettable musical journey. Founded by “Limon” Perez and featuring local musicians from the Fredericksburg Jazz and Latin Music scene, the group explores the vibrant rhythms and soulful melodies of Latin Jazz.

Easter Gratitude Offering

As we approach the joyous celebration of Easter, we are reminded of the profound gratitude we share for the blessings in our lives and the cherished memories of our loved ones. This season of renewal and hope offers us a unique opportunity to express our thankfulness and honor those who have touched our hearts.

We invite you to participate in St. George’s Episcopal Church’s Easter Gratitude Offering. This special offering allows us to give in honor of, in memory of, or in thanksgiving for our loved ones. Your contributions will support the church’s mission and ministries, helping us to continue our work in serving the community and spreading the message of love and compassion.

For checks, include “gratitude offering” in the memo line and mail to: PO Box 7127, Fredericksburg, VA 22404. Please include a note that specifies who you would like to honor with your gift. We will also have some envelopes available in the pews on Sunday that you can place in the offering plate.

We will acknowledge honorees in our Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday service bulletins. To have your loved one included in the bulletins, please make your gift by April 7.
