Harry Wilson in Concert

March 9, 2023 by St. George's 1 Comment

Harry WilsonSt. George’s Episcopal Church will offer a free concert by local vibraphonist Harry Wilson with the St. George Jazz Ensemble, on Sunday, March 19 at 3 pm. The concert is part of the church’s Chamber Concert Series and features a program of Jazz Standards.

Harry Wilson is a jazz musician and has been a fixture in the Fredericksburg, VA jazz scene for the last 30 years and is still going strong. He brings a wealth of expertise and knowledge to the jazz world as the bandleader of the Harry Wilson Quartet. He has recorded and played with the Sun Ra Arkestra and played in just about every club and restaurant in the DC Metro area. Harry’s vibraphone playing forges a recognizable sound that can be enjoyed by even a novice looking to find their way into the genre.

The concert is free with donations accepted at the door. Masks are not required but recommended.

Located at 905 Princess Anne Street in historic downtown Fredericksburg, Virginia, St. George’s Episcopal Church offers a wide range of concerts throughout the year featuring local and out of town musicians. The nave’s lush acoustics provide the perfect backdrop for “beautiful music in a beautiful space”.
