Flute and cello duo Terra Voce will perform at free concert at St. George’s Episcopal Church on Sunday, January 19 at 3 pm. The concert is part of St. George’s Chamber Series. Music will span diverse musical styles and traditions and include compositions specially written for flute and cello alongside the ensemble’s own cross-genre arrangements. The concert is partially funded by a grant from the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
Terra Voce thrills audiences with lively concert programs that explore a colorful array of musical styles from Baroque to tango, Brazilian choro and European folk. Known for performances that combine the diverse and unexpected, cellist Andrew Gabbert and flutist Elizabeth Brightbill connect with their listeners through music that surprises, uplifts, and inspires curiosity. The duo’s down-to-earth approach creates a relaxed and refreshingly informal setting for performances that test the limits of what is possible on just two instruments.
Located at 905 Princess Anne Street in historic downtown Fredericksburg, Virginia, St. George’s Episcopal Church offers a wide range of concerts throughout the year featuring local and out of town musicians. The nave’s lush acoustics provide the perfect backdrop for “beautiful music in a beautiful space”.
The concert is free with donations accepted at the door. For more information, contact (540) 373-4133 or music@stgeorgesepiscopal.net. To learn more about St. George’s concert series, visit www.stgeorgesepiscopal.net/music/concerts.
