The Story of Our New Piano

When the Gallagher family contacted us because they wanted to give us their piano, we were thrilled. When we asked them why they had chosen to give it to us, we were moved.

In their own words, “We donated our piano to St. George’s because this is a church that would embrace our son Brendon.  It is as simple and as complicated as that.”

The Gallaghers were active members of their church when their son, Brendon, came out to them. At the time he was attending university and studying music. The next five years at their church were challenging, and ultimately they decided to leave their church.

We are happy to report that Brendon is now thriving, living in New York City and pursuing a career in opera. He has met a wonderful man and they couldn’t be happier for them both.

The Gallaghers closed their letter to us with, “Good theology bears good fruit.  I am thankful for the thoughtful theology of the Episcopal church.”

Thank you to the Gallagher family for your beautiful gift.
