2018 Lenten Devotional: Meeting Jesus in the Gospel of John

February 6, 2018 by St. George's 2 Comments

Have you ever wished to deepen your relationship with God? To experience a warm friendship with God? Maybe even fall in love with God – again – or for the very first time?

Join our rector, Joe Hensley, and the monks of the Society of St. John the Evangelist for a six-week Lenten journey through prayer and reflection on The Gospel According to John.

Go to meetingjesusinjohn.org to download a reflection journal (or order a hard-copy) and materials and sign up to receive email reflections from the monks. Joe will be leading online and in person conversations at various points along the way, but you can participate at anytime from anywhere.

Contact Joe if you plan to participate or if you would like to join us but cannot access the online materials.

I have always been interested in the gospel of John. I think that it time for me to participate in some on line study and sharing. I am not attending church much now…….I am trying to drive less and do not like the stress of trying to find a place to park in F’Burg. I have decreased my pledge to St. George’s as it seems expenses have increased.

I have dropped much of my volunteer work at St. George’s……As this 80 year old woman ages, she needs to address not only her body through exercise which is time consuming, but keep her mind active through her volunteer work with the National Park Service at Chatham, the Friends of Chatham and the Washington-Lewis Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution………have developed a passion for local history.
I have decided that I prefer not to drive at night as I live out in Spotsylvania County.

I try with God’s grace to achieve balance in my life.

I would like to participate on the Lenten study of John’s gospel.
