You are here: Home / Welcome

Welcome

We are glad that you found our website, and we hope that all you see here will lead you to experience St. George’s Church in person. We are a growing congregation that seeks to cultivate and spread God’s love and God’s Word in Christ. Everyone is welcome!

For more information, see our Newcomers page. Please fill out our Visitor’s Form so we can contact you!

We believe that God is calling us to reach out to others, and we welcome you to become a part of our church family. Whether you come with questions and doubts or in search of a new church home, we invite you to explore our website and learn more about our ministries, our community of faith, our beautifully renovated sanctuary, and our recently installed custom-designed organ.

Although this website has much helpful information about our parish, the best way to get to know our church family is by coming to visit us on Sunday. You can choose from any of the four different services ranging from the traditional to the contemporary to the Celtic Candlelight at times noted on this website.  Also on this site you will find numerous links enabling you to connect with us in worship, music, Christian Education, youth groups, St. George’s Episcopal preschool, world missions in Haiti, Honduras, and the Sudan as well as many other programs and ministries in which you may be interested and wish to participate.

St. George’s has a dedicated staff of clergy and lay persons as well as a host of active volunteers. We are eager to welcome newcomers. For more information about our staff click here (link to staff page). To contact us, call the church at 540-373-4133, send us an email (office@stgeorgesepiscopal.net) , or just come by to say ‘hello.’ For more about what we are doing, follow us on Twitter and Facebook and sign up to receive our weekly email announcements. You can also find printed information in the entrance (narthex) of the church as well as in the weekly service bulletins.

For nearly 300 years, St. George’s has endeavored to be a faithful witness to the unfailing love of God in the greater Fredericksburg area. St. George’s is a place where inclusion is expected, where people of all backgrounds are welcomed, and where we continually live into the challenge of expanding our capacity for diverse and dynamic celebrations of God’s inclusive love. If you are seeking to worship and serve Christ wholeheartedly; if you want to belong to a community of faith and be challenged to grow in your journey of faith; if you are seeking sanctuary and refreshment in God–then discover St. George’s.

We hope, through this website, you will be moved to discover St. George’s for yourself and in so doing experience and serve God in Christ with us. Please join us for worship, fellowship, outreach, and education. You will receive a warm welcome from all of us at St. George’s.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
