COMMUNITY DINNERS
Community dinners, organized by Micah Ecumenical Ministries, provide free meals for the community almost every night of the year. There is a community dinner at St. George’s every Monday in Sydnor Hall. Our congregation provides food, and service for the third and fourth Mondays of the month. This involves everything from cooking the meals to serving, to washing dishes, to mopping floors. Those who serve in this community find the work extraordinarily rewarding. Volunteers are always needed. For more information, please contact Outreach.
FOOD FOR LIFE
Food for Life is a feeding program for the elderly in need in our community offered by our local food bank. Volunteers greet and distribute food boxes once a month from our building.
SANDWICHES FOR THE HOMELESS
In another partnership we have with Micah Ecumenical Ministries, volunteers meet monthly to make 175 sandwiches and pack brown bags to be handed out by Micah. The sandwich makers meet on the third Tuesday of each month in the St. George’s kitchen.
