Souper Bowl Sunday of Caring for Stop Hunger Now will take place on Sunday, February 7. Immediately following the 11 a.m. service, we will join our Presbyterian neighbors for about an hour and a half to package 20,000 meals and have lunch together. Our youth will be collecting donations to cover the costs of these meals, about $2,500. They will be stationed at the doors all morning with their soup pots, so please give generously on Souper Bowl Sunday and come help pack meals!

Call Gay Copley from the Presbyterian Church at 371-1630 if you would like to help with lunch.

Children’s Vitamin Collection

The Haiti Team is collecting chewable children’s vitamins for their upcoming trip to Port Au Prince in February. No Gummy Vitamins please! Place vitamins in the collection basket in the narthex just inside the doors.

Cold Shelter Seeks Volunteers

Micah Ministries is establishing an “Extreme Team.” The Extreme Team are people who live within walking distance of downtown or who have four-wheel drive and can bring a pot of chili or other simple meal to Fredericksburg Baptist Church on nights snowy nights to feed guests of the Cold Night Shelter. End-of-Year Donation and Reimbursement Information

With the new year approaching, here is important information about end-of-year deadlines for donations and reimbursements.

Church Reimbursement Forms must be received no later than noon on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015.

Any charitable contributions to be considered for tax year 2015 must be received by the church or postmarked on or before Dec. 31.

Checks: Please note that the date on the check is immaterial.
Securities: A stock donation to St. George’s through a broker must show a contribution date of Dec. 31, 2015 or before. The broker should send us the usual donor’s letter confirming the date and the appropriate stock values.

Christmas Offerings

All undesignated cash and checks designated Christmas Outreach will be going to the following recipients this year:

The international offering will go to St. George’s mission work in Haiti running medical clinics and supporting the school and Episcopal Church, Notre Dame d’ Annunciation in Port au Prince.

The local offering will go to Compassion Restoration Ministries. This local ministry works to repair and supply cars to those in desperately in need of assistance. They also supply fire wood for heating and furniture to anyone in need.
