Drum Circle

A drum circle is a gathering of people who come together to express themselves through the use of percussive instruments.  No experience is necessary because the cooperative energy of the group will create a rhythm that lifts and carries all participants.  Drumming helps to create a sacred space infused with healing—it is both experiential and therapeutic.

When people come together as a group to create rhythm, something intrinsic and inclusive happens. Picture a flock of birds flying together…one of the birds is leading the way, but all of the birds seem to know exactly where the lead bird is going. This same phenomenon begins to happen with a group of drummers that are listening to each other and playing together. One drummer plays and more and more drummers are able to join in and naturally play with the momentum of the rhythm.

Please join us on the first Wednesday of each month, beginning on March 7th.  We will come together in Faulkner Hall from 7:00-8:00 p.m. to explore and create rhythm.  Extra drums, rattles, etc. are limited, so please bring any percussive instruments you may have.  Registration is not required; however, it would be helpful to indicate if you plan to attend.  Please contact Cynthia Armbrister.
