Congregational Care
It is our mission to reach out and journey with those we know who are experiencing life transition or crisis.
Outreach will once again be displaying the “Giving Tree” this year in the Narthex. The tree goes up on the First Sunday of Advent, November 27. This year, we will be providing gifts for the families seeking refuge in The Haven, a shelter for abused women and their children. The shelter provides a temporary home for these women and children as they transition into a life away from their abuser.
This is a painful journey at any time for abused families but even more so at Christmas for those who must remain isolated during the holidays for their own protection. We will also be collecting $25 Giant gift cards for women and children in transition from the shelter to a home of their own.
In addition to our gifts for The Haven, there will be tags requesting hats, gloves and watches for adult men and women staying at the Thurman Brisben Homeless Shelter.
Please remove one or more gift tags from the tree, purchase the requested item(s) listed on the tag and return the unwrapped gifts with the original tags to church by Sunday, December 11th.
If you would like to assist with this very special outreach program please contact Shandel Perron or Carey Chirico.
