Pilgrims' Path
Pilgrims is a program of lectures, discussion and small group meetings for those adults seeking confirmation in the Episcopal Church and those wishing to reaffirm their confirmation. The class is designed for those who are seeking to enter more deeply into membership and discipleship in the Episcopal Church.
Following the liturgical year from Advent through Pentecost, participants discuss significant issues of Christian faith, practice and theology within the framework of the Church’s teaching and worship; its understanding of sin, evil and forgiveness; personal and social ethics; and the call to be agents of justice and peace in the world.
Our time together will be an opportunity to get to know each other and learn more about the Episcopal Church, as well as St. George's.
The program begins each January and concludes with confirmation in the Spring. We gather for Pilgrims in Faulkner Hall on Saturdays at 8:30 am for coffee, juice, muffins, and conversation. Our sessions begin promptly at 9 am and end at Noon.
2012 Pilgrims' Path Schedule:
Those choosing to be confirmed or received will have that opportunity at the 11 am worship service on April 29, 2012 by Bishop Shannon Johnston.
Please register in advance by email to Jan Meredith.
Saturday Night Suppers
This small group activity is held on the first Saturday night of each month (with the exception of July and August) at parishioners’ homes to foster welcoming and fellowship. All adults are welcome to join the fun of this small group. This year we especially encourage our newcomers to attend the November 6, 2011 Saturday Night Supper at the home of Jim and Vicki Lewis.
Newcomer’s Class
Classes are held twice a year to introduce newcomers to the activities of the church, meet clergy, vestry and other program staff, tour the building, and to help find a niche in which you can best fit here at St. George’s. Classes meet in Faulkner Hall at 10:00 am on Sunday mornings.
2011-2012 Newcomer’s Class Schedule:
For more information on newcomers email Jan Meredith.
