Kate Braestrup is a community minister, law enforcement chaplain, and the author of Here If You Need Me, Marriage and Other Acts of Charity, and Beginner's Grace: Bringing Prayer to Life. As Chaplain to the Maine Warden service, responsible for assisting families who loved ones are missing, Braestrup says, "A lot of the work I do is around death. I've been on the receiving end of the kind of care that I am offering."
Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq was the site of shocking abuse of "detainees." Braestrup will use this experience to explore collective wrongdoing - how does this happen?
Kate will preach at both the 9:00 am and 11:00 am worship services as well as lead the Adult Forum at 9:55 am in Sydnor Hall.
