Programs and Ministries

Adult Forums

Sunday mornings at St. George’s offer several options for adults during the program year (September to May).  Offerings include Bible study, lectures, and classes facilitated by the clergy, visiting lecturers, and parishioners.

All programming is planned by the clergy working with adult education and ministry committees.  We welcome and encourage suggestions and feedback regarding our offerings.  If you are interested in learning more, please contact Ed Jones or Dr. Russell Carter.

The Early Bird class, meeting on Sunday mornings at 9:00 am in the Library, is reading Barbara Brown Taylor's An Altar in the World.  Join us.

Adult Forums in May

As we wind down our program year of "Building Community and Living Together," our Adult Forums focus on welcoming, planning, healing and fellowship.

Learn the basics of creating a Will, when to revise it and how to include the church in your estate plans on Sunday, May 6 at 9:55 am in Sydnor Hall with Russ Roberts and Mac Willis.  Ben Hicks and Ralph Powell will begin the discussion with a brief introduction on the concept of planned giving.  Be sure to take this opportunity to ask questions about this important topic.

Welcome to all those new to St. George's is what Sunday, May 6 is all about in Faulkner Hall beginning at 9:55 am.  Ethel Hellman will offer a brief orientation followed by a welcome from our Senior Warden, Dori Eglevsky.  To finish up the morning, Nick Cadwallender will offer a tour of the facility and help those newer to our space find their way around.

As part of our Sunday liturgies St. George's now offers the ministry of healing prayer to any who desire it.  On Sunday, May 13 at 9:55 am in Sydnor Hall our Healing Prayer Ministers will speak to us about this new ministry and it's ancient beginnings.

Finally, plan to join us on Sunday, May 20 at 9:55 am in Sydnor Hall for a parish wide breakfast.  The Adult Christian Education Commission wishes to say thank you for supporting our programs this year and asks for your input as to what you would like to see in the coming year.  Everyone is welcome.

All Sydnor Hall forums will begin at 9:55 a.m.
