Thank you to all households that have participated so far in our annual stewardship campaign! As of October 25, we have received 274 pledges. 137 more pledges are needed to help reach our goal. We hope 75% of parish households will make a pledge of financial offering in thanksgiving to God and in support of our 2017 budget. Please make your pledges (by card or online) as soon as possible so that we can plan for the coming year.
The vestry and stewardship commission have adopted “Growing as One and Giving as One” (GO and GO) as our theme for the 2017 stewardship campaign. We give as individuals, one by one, and we give as one larger Body of Christ. As we give, we grow in our own faith and in and our ministry together. We give thanks for all the gifts of money, time, and talent that make possible the ministry of our parish. Again we say, “THANK YOU” to God and to you for all that we receive.
The most active part of the campaign was from October 2-23. 2016, when “GO Passport Folders” containing sealed pledge cards for each household traveled through almost 60 neighborhood routes to reach St. George’s households. We are still waiting for a few packets to be returned. You receive the packet from a neighbor, complete and seal your pledge card, and pass the folder on to the next household as soon as possible. Parishioner “GO Guides” have been invaluable in making sure the packets keep moving. We hope this campaign will be fun and engaging, will result in a swifter receipt of pledge cards, will bring in more pledges overall, and will bring us closer together as a parish community. If you would rather not receive the passport folder and would like to simply mail your pledge, please contact the church office asap.
