2012 Vestry Stewardship Statement 

We, the Vestry of St. George’s Episcopal Church -- recognizing that in our Baptismal Covenant and Catechism we have promised to care for the poor,  care for each other, and to work, pray and give for the spread of the kingdom of God -- hereby commit to the following:

• We will offer our time and talent as church leaders and encourage others in our parish to join with us through service on our committees, commissions, ministries and missions of our parish and diocese. 
• We will be good stewards of the resources provided through Christ by our parish, will ensure those resources are used to further Christ’s work, and will be open and honest concerning how those resources are expended.
• We will treat each other and all those in our church compassionately and respectfully, be open to the opinions of others, and pray before and while making important decisions.
• We will be leaders in the giving of our financial resources by knowing the percent of our income that we give to our church and Christian ministries, and, with the help of Christ, will live into the tithe as our minimum standard of giving.

We pray for the grace to live into these promises.
