The Reverend James C. Dannals (Jim)
joined us in December 2004. He is a graduate of Florida State University and
Yale University Divinity School.
Prior to coming to St. George's, Jim served congregations in Massachusetts,
North Carolina and Florida.
He desires to empower God's people for a life of reconciliation and
compassionate service.
Jim is a student and teacher of the Enneagram, an ancient tool for
spiritual transformation.
He is married to Carolyn Hoffman Dannals, an early childhood educator,
and they have three adult sons.

Associate Rector:

The Reverend Gay M. Rahn
joined us at St. George's as Associate Rector in December 2005.
Prior to coming to St. George's, Gay has served in churches in
Tennessee, Florida, Georgia and Massachusetts.
Gay is married to Tom Rahn and they are the parents of three adult
daughters and have three grandchildren.
Gay is from Savannah and had the blessing of growing up with a Methodist mother
and a Roman Catholic father.
Widely recognized as a leader in the Catechesis of the Good
Shepherd, Gay Rahn introduced our children to the Catechesis. In addition, Gay
has used her extensive experience and expertise
in developing and supporting our adult spiritual formation program.
New passions in Gay's life are that she has become a beekeeper and apitherapist.

Assistant Rector for Outreach and Youth Ministries:

The Reverend Fletcher M. Wells joined the staff of St. George's
as Assistant Rector for Outreach and Youth Ministries on July 1, 2007.
Fletcher is a 2003 graduate (B.S. in Chemistry) of James Madison University and a 2007
graduate from Virginia Theological Seminary. Fletcher was ordained deacon on June 16, 2007.
He spent his formative years growing up in
Springfield and was active at St. Andrew’s in Burke, where Percy Grant (now Assistant to Bishop Lee
for Youth) was his leader and mentor.

Director of Music Ministries:
|
John H. Vreeland joined us at St. George's on July
1, 2005 as Director of Music Ministries. He serves
as parish organist, directs the Choir of St.
George’s, St. George’s Jazz Ensemble and Choir, St.
George Voices, St. Georgians Youth Choir, Ringers
and Singers Children’s Choir and provides leadership
and support for the Adult Bell Choir.
John holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music
Education from Nazareth College in Rochester, NY and
a Master of Music Degree in Organ Performance from
the University of Buffalo. He has served as Music
Consultant for the Diocese of Rochester,
Coordinator/Faculty of the Leadership Program for
Musicians Serving Small Congregations and also
performs regularly as a Jazz Pianist.

Director of Children's Ministries:
|

Effective Feb. 16, Carey Chirico joined our
staff as Director of Children’s Ministries. This ˝ time
position will enable us to strengthen our
Christian Education and Spiritual Formation offerings
for children and their families. Carey will oversee all
programs for 3 year olds through grade 5 as well as
our Nursery infant and toddler care. Having just
finished a 3-year term on the Vestry, serving in 2006
as our Sr. Warden, and serving for many years in
outreach, fellowship, and education ministries all
make Carey a great addition to our staff.
Carey received her B.A. in Psychology in 1984
from the University of Richmond and her Master’s in
Education in 1986 from VCU. She is certified in
Special Education K-12. Carey’s work experience
includes being a Pre-School Teacher for the
Fredericksburg Cooperative Preschool, Director of
St. George’s Happy Kid’s Summer Preschool from
1995-2001, and a Special Education Teacher for K-3
in Henrico County. As most of you know, Carey’s
family includes our much loved Bernie, Alexandra, and
Phil.

Parish Administrator:

Ben
Hicks became our Parish Administrator at St.
George's on January 16, 2007.
Born in Fredericksburg, Ben received a BA
at Davidson College in History and a MAE at Wake
Forest. After his education, he spent 6 years as a
teacher in Winchester City Schools and then 22 years
at the National Bank of Fredericksburg in credit,
loan review, compliance and network administration.
He is married to Catherine Delbridge Hicks, a social
worker and counselor and they have three adult
girls. In his spare time he enjoys polishing his
computer skills, music and reading.

Office Manager:

On April 1, Sue Shunk joined St.
George’s staff as Office Manager. For the past 6+
years, Sue has been the Office Manager for Century
Tile in Alexandria. Many St. Georgians will empathize
with Sue’s desire to work closer to home. A resident
of Stafford since 1993, Sue is active at Ebenezer
United Methodist Church in Stafford, and she
understands the dynamics of congregational life.
Her previous work experience includes being
Assistant Manager for Education Credit Services and
Assistant Director of La Petite Academy. She and
her husband Tom, who has his own appliance repair
business, have six children.

Sexton:
|
Tom Holladay has been our
Sexton at St. George's since October 1993. He is retired from the CIA after a full career.
"Doc," as people here prefer to call him, often is called upon to
do special projects when he is not otherwise busy with cleaning, doing
routine maintenance, shopping for supplies, setting up chairs and tables,
locking up one night a week or any of a number of other tasks.
Here Doc is moving a filing cabinet in the Music
Room shortly after he built an office for the Music Director within the
Music Room.

Night Sexton:
|
|

Effective April 16, 2007, George H. (Geordie) Beddoe, son of our retired Parish Administrator,
became the Night Sexton at St. George's.
This half-time position facilitates cleaning after office hours
and locking the church at night.
Geordie was born in Fairfax City and moved to Fredericksburg
where he graduated from High School. Geordie grew up in the church and
participated with the youth group. Geordie is a versatile musician. When he
is not working as our Night Sexton, he is a drummer and percussionist
(plays each Tuesday at the Bistro), guitarist, pianist, and bass player.
