Director of Children's Ministries:

Effective Feb. 16, Carey Chirico joined our staff as Director of Children’s Ministries. This ˝ time position will enable us to strengthen our Christian Education and Spiritual Formation offerings for children and their families. Carey will oversee all programs for 3 year olds through grade 5 as well as our Nursery infant and toddler care. Having just finished a 3-year term on the Vestry, serving in 2006 as our Sr. Warden, and serving for many years in outreach, fellowship, and education ministries all make Carey a great addition to our staff.

Carey received her B.A. in Psychology in 1984 from the University of Richmond and her Master’s in Education in 1986 from VCU. She is certified in Special Education K-12. Carey’s work experience includes being a Pre-School Teacher for the Fredericksburg Cooperative Preschool, Director of St. George’s Happy Kid’s Summer Preschool from 1995-2001, and a Special Education Teacher for K-3 in Henrico County. Sexton:

Tom Holladay has been our Sexton at St. George's since October 1993.  He is retired from the CIA after a full career.

"Doc," as people here prefer to call him, often is called upon to do special projects when he is not otherwise busy with cleaning, doing routine maintenance, shopping for supplies, setting up chairs and tables, locking up one night a week or any of a number of other tasks.

Here Doc is moving a filing cabinet in the Music Room shortly after he built an office for the Music Director within the Music Room.

Night Sexton:

Effective April 16, 2007, George H. (Geordie) Beddoe, son of our retired Parish Administrator, became the Night Sexton at St. George's.

This half-time position facilitates cleaning after office hours and locking the church at night.

Geordie was born in Fairfax City and moved to Fredericksburg where he graduated from High School. Geordie grew up in the church and participated with the youth group. Geordie is a versatile musician. When he is not working as our Night Sexton, he is a drummer and percussionist (plays each Tuesday at the Bistro), guitarist, pianist, and bass player.
